v-phone for Vonage VoIP service

Vonage, the leading VoIP service has come out with pretty interesting device known as v-phone. It is a tiny, bright orange colored device attached to your key chain which you can take with you any where and connect to any internet connected PC (obviously broadband) and start making calls through your own vonage account. I love this idea.

I called the customer service and only problem that you have to purchase other plan. I am using Vonage VoIP service but I can not add it on to my existing service and have to buy another plan which is not right. But otherwise this idea is pretty cool.

TVeyes.com

I came across this wonderful website a.k.a. tveyes.com

They have very interesting concept. It employs special technology so when you order a search with particular search term, the underlying search engine will scourch the web and find all video clips which has that particular search term is spoken in the clip. It is very interesting and I personally think this technology has tremendous dimension just imagine you can record all your conversation and then one fine day you search your audio clips with particular "phrase"....wow.

I love this technology and I think more developer should focus on underlying technology to find more uses.

Flash Saving plugin allow you to save flash files to your hard drive directly from your browser. It is a very cool utility which I have been using for a while to save flash files. All flash files on the particular webpage which you are visiting can be saved with a single click. The plugin installs as an addon IE browser tool in your IE toolbar and from there it works like a charm...

Photo2Sketch

Photo2Sketch is a simple program that will turn your usual photos into designs imitating sketches.

It creates pencil/pen drawings of your photographs. I tried it and was pleasantly happy with it. Sometimes you have to play with precision and line slider parameters. The quality of sketches is very good. The program is very limited in functionality but serves its functions.

They have paid version which has more functionalities but for starters like me free version is ok.

Welcome to my tech blog

Hi folks,

I am starting this new blog today to satisfy my appetite for Technology. I am a graduate in Medicine but I also posses Masters in Computer Science and that is the reason that inspite of being active in Medicine I have inherent love for technology which so far I have been using to my advantage in research and various other day to day functions. I usually keep all my lovely softwares in one nice folder but then I realized that I should share them with the world.

My main focus in this blog would be to share with you nice and small software. I personally like small softwares which are easy on RAM, less CPU intensive and quick to install and run. I also intend to share good technological news in which I am interested and sometime I may discuss big size softwares if I am blown away by its functionality. I hope you will enjoy my posts here and at the same time softwares which I mention. Do not forget to leave your feedback in comments section.

sincerely,

Sid
